ungatekeeping the best zi char in JB 😋

Hi everyone! 👋

This is hands-down one of the most affordable zi char restaurants that serve quality food in JB. We got almost 10 dishes for 7 people, and the bill came to just $11 per person, which is so worth it given the service and the fact that it’s an air-conditioned restaurant (btw, no hate to my outdoor JB food stalls).

Here’s what we tried:

🍖 Char Siu & Roasted Pork Double Platter - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The char on the char siu was amazing, and the pork was so fatty.

🦆 Duck with Herbs - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Crispy skin and super flavorful, but Ya Wang might be better, oops.

🥚 Fu-Yong Omelette - ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Standard fried egg; however, the egg was quite thin. :(

🍜 (Must order) Stir-fried Beehoon with Fish Sauce - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We ordered two portions because it was THAT good. The wok hei was amazing, and the peppery notes were such a pleasant surprise.

🍲 (Must order) Golden Tofu with Preserved Radish - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The toppings were so good and added a nice crunch. The sauce was also so addictive, and the tofu was smooth and silky.

🌿 Sambal Kangkong - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Standard dish! The portion is slightly smaller, though.

🍆 (Must order) Claypot Eggplant - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m not a personal fan of eggplant, but the sauce was amazing.

🌰 (Must order) Golden Lotus Root with Pumpkin - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So addictive! Loved how the salted egg sauce coated each piece, and it still remained crispy.

I’ll definitely recommend this place if you’re bringing the family over!!
