pumpkin spice latte: is it worth the hype?

although i am the ultimate white girl stereotype, i’ve actually never had a pumpkin spice latte. i’ve tried a sip once or twice in my life, i’ve just never ordered my own. but today i decided i needed to take this next step in my life and finally order one, here are my thoughts (that nobody asked for)

taste: never pumpkinny. never spiced (think cinnamon flavoured - that’s the most overwhelming taste). it has the taste of autumn. of halloween. it’s perfect. but it can be a bit sickly and sweet

caffeine: none. i mean, there’s probably coffee (?) but you can’t taste or feel it which is major minus points for me

price: omg extortionate !!!! it was €5.79 for a grande which equals about 8SGD (i haven’t been to singapore starbucks in a while so maybe this is normal??) but i was shocked, considering a regular latte is a whole €1.30 cheaper. worth it to try

overall, i think it’s worth it. it’s a perfect drink to settle into autumn and get the spooky feels, but i can understand why it’s not a year-round drink. i’m still gonna be more excited for the christmas peppermint mocha each year though, but better luck next time #pumpkinspicelatte
