who say west-side don’t have good korean food?

Y’all in the west side! Let me introduce a “hidden”, well not so hidden korean eatery serving amazing authentic mains and kbbq in Buona Vista!

Chi-Bing was something my friends and I chanced upon as we were looking for some Korean food in Star Vista! Trust me when I say, the online page, images and reviews of the place looked super sketchy, we didn’t even know if we wanted to go, but considering our limited time and hungry tummies, we went in.

👍Why I like it:

They have outdoor and indoor seating, which you can decide based on what you’re having! We opted indoors to avoid the strong bbq smell as we were just having mains!

Their prices are actually not overly cheap when you see the menu, but the portions ARE HUGE!!!! Super worth your money I feel!

My fav fish is definitely the beef Bulgogi, which was super tender and flavourful, perfect when served with rice!! We also got the doenjang jjigae, which was perfectly flavoured! I know for a fact that it’s impossible to find a place which sells delicious soybean paste soup unless the chef’s a Korean (speaking from countless experiences)

My friend wanted to get the jajangmyeon and omg!!!! It was super flavourful and had chewy noodles, we rlly cleaned the plate!

Their sides were also pretty substantial and good, not much comments as they were all pretty common sides!

We got a cheesy steamed egg to share which was pretty standard!!! You can get it if you like eggs, but they’re nothing exceptionally great about this dish.

OVERALL:

If you’re looking for a somewhat middle place to meet for dinner, and want to try out some authentic Korean food that’s not always at Tanjong Pagar, chi-bing is a pretty good place to visit! Half the store is bustling with Koreans and the eatery is owned by a group of Koreans, including the chefs, and some of the full time servers!

They also serve Korean bingsu, which looked so promising, my friends and I promise that we’ll be back!!
