Annyeong โจ here with another food review!! This time, I tried the newly revamped Korean restaurant, POCHA! and revisited my favourite street food/takeaway eats when I was in Korea ๐ฐ๐ท๐ฉ๐
- MY FAVE!!!
- Both corn dogs were fried really well and the cheese pulls for both were ๐ฏ
- Iโve had mediocre corn dogs where the flour was mushy but these ones were airy and crispy! Super yomz
- Price wise, just a tiiiny bit pricey imo (by like a dollar) but I think super worth for the quality you get (:

โจ ๐๐ข๐ก๐๐ฌ ๐ฃ๐๐๐ก๐จ๐ง ๐๐ข๐ง๐ง๐๐ข๐ ($๐ฑ.๐ต๐ฌ)
- This was served piping hot which reminded me of how it was served on the streets of Korea too!
- I didnโt eat this till towards the end of my meal and they were still hot!
- The hotteok is packed with the honey that oozes out when you bite into it too!
- Honey was very sweet and flavourful. I think the filling to dough ratio was just right for me (:
- Price wise, 2 pieces for $5.90 is worth it imo!
- โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ (canโt really beat the ones in Korea ofc ๐ญ but close enough!)
- When I saw this I was like hmmmmm savoury hotteok? ๐ง letโs give it a shot
- Iโd say the flavour combination was actually not bad!! If youโre someone who loves carbs and savoury food I think this would be right down your alley
- Also, I was never a fan of japchae but this particular japchae was very flavourful and caught me by surprise. Have to say, first time I actually liked japchae and Iโm being seriousโฆ ๐ซฅ
- A little expensive price wise, but worth a try! Defo canโt beat the honey hotteok imo!

- A staple must order!!
- Came with egg and fish cake (as it should ๐ ๐ป) but you can add more toppings including cheese at additional cost.
- Taste wise, itโs just as what youโd imagine! So I canโt say much other than itโs good and what youโd expect when ordering tteokbokki (:
- Texture of the tteokbokki on the other handโฆ was a little mushy ๐ญ I wish it was much more chewy and QQ!! Perhaps just a bad batch that day which I hope is the case!
- Having tteokboki in sg ainโt cheap so price wise I expected this! Would defo be more worth if the texture of tteokbokki was good!
Other non-street food I tried!
- Not your usual marinated crab as itโs marinated with their in house soy sauce.
- The crab is cut in half and youโre provided gloves to eat it with
- The crab meat came out of the shell easily and tasted very sweet!
- In terms of freshness, wouldnโt say itโs the freshest, BUT does not taste like itโs not fresh.
- Would be even more satisfying if it could be enjoyed with rice, sesame oil and seaweed on the side
- Price increases depending on how many crabs you order. Overall I think itโs really quite worth!
- Includes 2 bottles of Terra and 2 bottles of a Chamisul soju
- Is it really a Korean street food meal if you donโt get turnt, and with proper Korean alcohol no less???
- honestly, $30 for 2 beers and 2 sojus really quite worth!!
- The fried chicken stir fry was extra cheesy so the cucumbers helped cut through the cheesiness!
- If you LOVE cheesy ramyeon this would be right up your alley!!
- The cheese & bacon stir fry on the other hand, had a much more delicate cheese flavour and reminded me of carbonara!
- Both ramyeon dishes had a fried egg with semi runny yolk which is a plus!!
- The fried chicken ramyeon felt like comfort food and something youโd cook at home on a rainy day, while the cheese & bacon ramyeon felt a bit more elevated.
- Between the 2, my friends and I really enjoyed the cheese & bacon stir fry more! We arenโt really cheese people ๐ญ but either way both made for a nice and hearty meal!
The street food can be ordered for takeaway at POCHAโs takeaway kiosk without needing to get a seat at the restaurant! This includes:
Hwachae Cup
Coin Cheese
Shin Shaker Eomuk Fries
Cupbap
Sindang-dong Tteokbokki
Krispy Chunks
Corndog / Potato Corndog
Cheesy / Corn Cheesu Bbang
Hotteok
(Do check if the outlet you want to visit has these items on the menu bc not all outlets carry everything listed here!)
FINAL THOUGHTS
- On top of what I had, they actually have a WIDE menu including as seen on K-drama/movie foods like the famous Parasite Ramdon!!!
- The drinks menu is also really wide!! Besides soju bombs, there are other soju cocktails and even the Korean pouch drinks that you can find at CU !!! Bruh ๐ฉโจ itโs really giving broke/rabz KR travels and Iโm living for itttt
- Overall, I think POCHA! is a great place to go if youโre looking to satisfy your Korean food cravings! Canโt say the KR food is the BEST Iโve ever had in SG but it definitely scratches that itch. And the authentic and wide menu is something to look forward too!
- Will defo come back to try other things on the menu the next time Iโm craving some Korean classic street food dishes
