*NEW* transferring WhatsApp data never got easier✌🏼

If you are someone like me who struggles with 5GB iCloud storage since forever, this post is for you! Save it for next time!!

I procrastinated changing to my new phone because my WhatsApp could not back up online at all due to insufficient iCloud space. Telegram transfer is seamless but Whatsapp was a tricky one.

When I finally dropped and cracked my old phone (as you can see from my cover pic), I looked into alternate ways to transfer WhatsApp and I found out about this new feature!!

You can now transfer WhatsApp data without backups!! And here’s how:

1️⃣ Ensure both phones to be connected to the same wifi

2️⃣ On your old phone, go to WhatsApp > Settings > chats > transfer chats to iPhone (or android)

3️⃣ Follow the process until you are shown a QR capture screen, stay on this page!

4️⃣ Now, on your new phone, download WhatsApp and set up, you will have to key in your phone no and receive an OTP on your old phone

5️⃣ You will see an option to transfer chat history via QR code. Select it and you get a QR code

6️⃣ Use your old phone to scan the QR code on your new phone

7️⃣ Tada! The transfer process will begin. Keep both phones unlocked and stay on the same page, there will be a % of progress shown.

It took only about 5-10mins for me to transfer the ~10GB of data I have on WhatsApp, so efficient!!
