How to travel on a budget!

#1 . Do free activities! You don’t have to spend a lot of money to experience the culture and overall vibe of a place! Go sit at a park, swim in the ocean/river/lake, go on a hike, and even window shop. You can find free walking tours on Guruwalk.com or freetour.com. A lot of hostels also offer them as well! Walking tours are a great way to see the place you are at and experience the history/culture. They are also a great way to make friends! Also, lots of museums have certain days (like Sundays) where admission is free- make sure to keep an eye out for that! 

#2 . Stay in Hostels! A hostel is a shared dorm and living space usually with bunk beds, kinda like summer camp! Typically there are private rooms as an option, but those are more expensive. For female travelers, some hostels are female only or have female only dorms! You can find cheap hostels on Hostel World. A good hack is to always go to the hostel's main website to see if the booking price is cheaper there than on hostelworld. Also, sometimes when you book through the hostel directly, you get free breakfast! 

#3 . Grocery shop! Keep eating out to a minimum. Fun fact: the Netherlands has the cheapest groceries, while Switzerland is the most expensive! You can find local markets by looking it up on the web, zooming into the map and looking for the word “market,” asking locals, or looking some up on lemon 8! Most hostels have kitchens you can prepare your meals in if not having anywhere to make/store your groceries was a worry.
