So I door dashed a lot during the summer and I thought Iâd help you guys that are thinking about dashing to earn extra money or for a full time job.
Pros: 1) You get to pick your own hours for the most part. When you are first starting out, they will only allow you to work during the busy hours, but once youâve worked for about a month (I think) you should be able to work for the whole day if desired.
2) The dasher can deposit the money theyâve made into their bank account every 24 hours. You can also choose to use your Dasher Direct Card and the money youâve made while dashing will instantly go to that card and you can use that card as your normal debit card.
3) I enjoyed that I got to work alone and I didnât have to answer to an âupper managementâ. I could also have a friend ride with me to make the time pass by quicker!
Cons:
1) Customers will lie A LOT! Doordash doesnât do a great job of handling the situation either. For example: I had a customer ask for their salad to be a no contact order. I took a picture, sent it to the customer, and then went on my way. An hour later, I receive multiple calls from the customer claiming I stole her salad. Spoiler Alert: I didnât and when I contacted Doordash about it, the customer service said, â Sorry we have to take the customerâs word for it because there wasnât any proof?â What was the point of me taking a picture at their door when I dropped it off then? I luckily only had a warning on my account for a little while, but I donât believe I deserved it in the first place.
2) You have to buy a lot of gas. I drive a Honda Accord 2013 and Hondas are know to have good gas mileage, but I probably had to fill my car up once a week.
