Sausage Croissant Breakfast Casserole

🐣 Easter was cancelled since everyone is sick, so it’s just me and the little guy! I wanted us to have a special Easter breakfast, so what’s better than a sausage breakfast casserole??🥐🧀🍳

This is a make ahead recipe and needs to sit in the fridge overnight! This actually was super convenient since all I had to do was pop it in the oven Easter morning. 🐰

Cook 1 lb of ground sausage meat on the stovetop. Cut up baked croissants into chunks. I used 8 small croissants, but 4 large would work.

Place croissant chunks, cooked sausage, and 1 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan in a greased baking dish.

Mix 2 3/4 cups whole milk, 1 cup heavy cream, and 5 eggs in a bowl. Pour over your casserole mixture and cover with foil. Refrigerate overnight.

The next morning, top with up to 2 cups shredded Gruyère cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder. Bake at 350F uncovered for 45 minutes. Done!

Top with chopped green onions to be fancy.

I took the original recipe from Southern Living and modified it a little to my taste. Enjoy!
