Hey everyone! Finals season is approaching for University students and as a Year 1 freshman, it definitely was not easy adjusting back into the rigour of academics after a long break post A Levels and the absence of structure and fixed school timings from JC… 😕

Nevertheless, it is important to ease back into the academic side of things by being more self-disciplined in university, where a lack of proper time-management can snowball and potentially bring detriment to your grades! 😢

So here are some study spots that I recommend within NUS and outside! 💯

1. Study pods, open tables, and seminar rooms in Mochtar Riady Building (BIZ1) - there are ample study spaces within this stunning and newly constructed building, characterised by its glass window panes which allows lots of natural sunlight to pass through! The ample spaces also provide great spaces to hold group discussions and projects too! 7/10 ☺️

2. Central Library (CLB) Level 6 - lots of individual study pods (ranging from types A-D) which have a 3-sided partition around you for maximum privacy and personal space! No more squeezing your items with strangers on the table and feeling crammed when studying! Besides, each study pod also comes with a charging port for your devices! Perfect for a long day of studying :) However, do note that the seats on L6 requires booking, and at a maximum of 6h per day, so do remember to book your studying slots early and find the suitable seat before they are reserved in this high-demand season 😱 8/10 😍

3. National Library (NLB) Bugis - another hot favourite among students all over Singapore! For students not staying in hostel, it is perhaps more convenient to study at NLB instead of NUS, and I don’t see why not 🤣 My go-to study spot during A Levels, the atmosphere there is really conducive and the HUGE number of study spots scattered across multiple floors proves itself well as a favourite. High ceilings, majestic views of skyscrapers in the heart of the city and well-furnished with educational resources… I don’t have to say more 😳 Coupled with its location within Bugis, known for its many surrounding malls equipped with dining areas and even retail, it is definitely an ideal spot to satisfy your cravings, or even treat yourself after a study session! 🤩 9/10! 🥰
