$58/pax Sunday Roast instead of a cafe brunch 🍖🥩😏

I’ve never had Sunday Roasts before, this was my first time. I went not really knowing what to expect in terms of taste, but I really looked forward to this meal!

It is $58/pax and you get a main + sides + condiments, available on Sundays only (duh), last order at 2pm so do take note!

Here’s what we got:

🍖 Pork Porchetta

I’d describe this as a roasted pork rolled with herbs. The skin was crisp, however a little bit tough and not comparable to siobak. Pork had a little porky stench but not really alarming to me, though my friend was sensitive to it. Meat was chewy, not much taste tbh, the herbs were kinda mild too. I dosed it in the brown sauce provided as I didn’t like the condiments (mustard etc).

🥩 Beef Wellington

Beef wrapped in puff pastry with a thin layer of cabbage/Brussels sprout tasting vege idk what it was, and some herbs. The beef had texture similar to roast beef, I believe it was medium, quite tender but takes a bit of effort to break the meat down. The pastry wasn’t amazing. Idk, I rly dk how a good beef Wellington tastes like so it was quite underwhelming to me.

Both mains came with these sides:

🐟 Fried fish skin was served as a starter, together with a mayonnaise-based dip.

🍮 I’ve never had Yorkshire Pudding, I’ve seen people making them on Tiktok though! It tasted really familiar to me, like a burger bun or some sort of bakery item that I’ve had in a certain chain brand, I just cannot recall what it is. The taste of it is slightly savoury, texture-wise it’s like a stale croissant HAHAHAHAHA. Not really my thing, it was gigantic btw 😛

🥔 The potatoes were my favourite thing in this entire meal LOL. IT WAS SO GOOD!!! Crispy on the outside and so fluffy inside yum yum.

🥬 Grilled asparagus was soft and was drizzled with some white sauce, didn’t have enough taste to leave an impression on me.

🥕 I don’t usually eat carrots but I could eat this one. They were thin baby carrots marinated with honey miso. It had a hint of sweetness! Didn’t taste too earthy or root-vegetable-ish, which is a good thing.

Overall, good experience. I’m not sure if it was good really, since this was the only time I’ve had a Sunday Roast. They have a 4.4* rating on Google so I suppose people do generally enjoy it, if you’ve tried it, let me know what you think!
