DITL of a nurse extern

Hi! My name is Bethany, and I am a 4th year nursing student living in New York City.

This summer I worked as a Mother-Baby nurse extern and this was my usual work day.

I NEVER take pictures in patient-care area to protect my patient’s safety and privacy so I’ll go over my day in details.

I clocked in at 7:00 am and joined the interdisciplinary morning huddle to go over patient care plan.

I like to make bow hats for all my baby girl admissions. It looks so cute on them and the parents LOVE it.

Perks of working in Mother-Baby is happy families usually bring us nurses and doctors treat for the care we provide!

My shift is 12 hours long but it goes by fast and just like that it’s 7:30 pm and it’s time to clock out.
