Bake or Buy? Famous Amos, with Recipe

[Recipe] Bake it or Buy it, featuring the most nostalgic Famous Amos Cookies that you must always eat fresh 🍪 For my comparison, I am using the classic Famous Amos Chocolate Chip cookies, with the viral copycat recipe from 4 years ago 😋🤓

I evaluated both of them against the same criteria, including crunch, taste and how economical it is too 😋

Recipe credit to Ms Baizura Muhammad FB post in 2020, whom she credited to Ms Anney. I halved the original, you can x2 it 😋

Ingredients

- 125g butter

- 125g brown sugar

- 1/2 large egg

- 1/2 tsp vanilla

- 180g plain flour

- 30g cornstarch

- 2g or 1/2 tsp baking powder

- 3g or 1/2 tsp baking soda

- 45ml flavourless vegetable oil such as canola or sunflower

- 250g dark chocolate chips

Steps

1. Mix together butter, brown sugar, egg and vanilla until single consistency

2. Mix in plain flour, cornflour, baking powder, baking soda, and flavourless veg oil. Then, add in

chocolate chips

3. Portion teaspoonfuls and bake for 18 - 19 mins at

160C until golden brown

4. Serve and enjoy!
