hello!! i tried reformer pilates for the first time today, and it was a really really good experience hehe so i thought iβd share some of my thoughts to help you decide if pilates is for you!! as a girly who has also tried spin, i would say pilates > spin classes π³π
for those just getting into fitness, pilates is a lot more beginner-friendly than spin imo.
β class sizes are much smaller, and you can interact with the instructor on a much closer level. in pilates, the instructor actually personally showed me how to use the reformer board before class started, and she would walk around to correct our form during exercises too. whereas in spin i couldnβt really keep up with the exercises the first time hahaha i was very stressed through the class oops. the pilates class overall was at a much slower pace which i preferred as i feel that spin can be very daunting for first-timers.
however! i do feel that the post-spin burn definitely hits harder than post-pilates, so those looking to sweat may not like pilates as much. it can feel a bit underwhelming at first, but i guarantee the core workouts in pilates are still so effective π―
