My AirJapan Experience ✈️

Been wanting to go back to Japan before covid hit and finally planned for one!

Of course first things first is to buy your air tickets. With the launch of so many new low-cost carriers such as Peach, Zip Air and AirJapan, it’s made getting to Japan so much more affordable!

✈️ buying them tickets ✈️

You are limited by the timing and airport selection but I’d choose saving money any day over expensive flights 🙃

The booking experience was seamless and fuss-free!

Pro tip: don’t book for meals going to Tokyo, but do book for meals back to Singapore, and also add on that extra check in luggage as it’ll cost more if you try to add-on after your initial check out.

Also if you do decide to add-on the baggage after you can but it’s about SGD$40 for one check in bag.

Total paid was ~SGD$1100 for 2 return tickets to Tokyo with:

- 2x 23kg check in to Tokyo

- 3x 23kg check in from Tokyo

- 1x in flight meal from Tokyo

✈️ on the plane ✈️

When I got on the plane, I was surprised that the seats felt super new and clean! When I opened the tray table, I even saw wet wipe marks cos it hadn’t even dried 😂

The seats were super comfortable when you recline and the amount of leg room 🤯

Think the best part is that both flights I took were not full so if you asked the flight attendants to swap to a full empty row, they were happy to oblige 👍🏻

✈️ entertainment ✈️

As a low-cost carrier, they don’t offer entertainment.. ok they kinda do but it’s not an extensive selection. They offer free in-flight WiFi, but it’s solely so that you can access their website for the limited shows to watch and also to browse their food and shopping options.

That said, they do have a dedicated holder for your phones or iPads so I highly recommend pre-downloading shows to watch in that way.

✈️ food ✈️

My husband pre-booked his dinner option but I didn’t so we rushed to get sandwiches and onigiris from the 7-11 at Narita before boarding.

Tbh was slightly worried that the crew would warn us off about consuming non-purchased flight food but they didn’t at all. Though I will say, at your own risk!

We were quite peckish throughout the flight so we ordered more food:

- inaniwa udon ¥800

- sea bream ochazuke ¥1000

- warabimochi ¥600

- rice crackers ¥250

They don’t accept Apple Pay or Cash so please prepare your physical cards for payment.

Overall the food were pretty decent for the price point, it wasn’t as bad as my husband had expected it to be 😂

✈️ conclusion ✈️

Rating /⭐⭐⭐️⭐⭐: If you ask me if I would take Air Japan again, I’d say yes! The value you get is really reasonably priced and overall experience was great too.
