Emotional trauma tends to be stored in our hips, so practicing hip-opening yoga poses will help you release any stagnant, emotional energy being stored within your body.
Yoga releases emotions by breaking up what we like to call “energy blocks.” These energy blocks often stem from emotions, traumas, and memories we've suppressed over time—even those you may be entirely unaware of.
When we work to release the tightness in our hips, we are able to unpack some of the accumulated trauma that is being held in this area, which is why some people cry during specific yoga poses!
