My best advice is to start slow and run/walk 2-3 times a week! Slowly decrease your walking amount each time and increase your running amount! I struggled getting my first 2-4 miles but I was going out way too fast so my body got too tired too early. It’s also good to establish goals. Do you want to be able to run a 5k? 10k? Just want to be able to run a mile easily? Whatever it may be that’s what’s going to help keep you motivated and keep you going. Running with friends is truly so much fun and will make the time go by faster! It’s all about consistency and showing up for yourself.
