I love attending reformer pilates classes and I wish I could attend more classes than I do, but the classes do end up getting expensive. I’ve found a few ways to replicate the moves done in the reformer pilates classes at the gym.
- Using the rowing machine, place your hands on a mat on the floor, with your feet on the seat of the machine. This will act as the springboard platform that you typically use in reformer pilates classes.
- Start off in a regular plank and hold for 1 minute.
- Go into plank crunches by keeping your back as straight as possible and bending your knees
closer towards your chest. Complete 10 reps.
- Then go into pike ups by keeping your core engaged and using your core to pull your legs
closer towards your chest/hands while pushing your booty towards the sky. Keep your legs
as straight as possible. Complete 10 reps.
- To attack the obliques, turn your body towards one side and do 10 reps of oblique crunches.
Bend your knee towards your chest, and make sure your core is engaged.
- Complete oblique crunches on the other side.
- Repeat circuit 4x.
