If you're struggling to decide on souvenirs to bring back from Seoul for your friends or family, I recommend considering Golden Piece's Yakgwa Set! π
These treats are famously known as "G-Dragon's Yakgwa" because they were featured at the launch event of a collaborative pop-up store with G-DRAGON and NIKE, where they served Golden Piece desserts as small gifts for attendees (Source: creatrip.com).
Now, what exactly is Yakgwa? It's a traditional Korean confection, a deep-fried, wheat-based hangwa made with honey, cheongju, sesame oil, and ginger juice.
I first came across Yakgwa through Netflix series, Alchemy of Souls, where Jang Uk's favorite dessert is referred to as "honey biscuits." Intrigued by the way he enjoyed it, I became curious about its taste.
During my trip to Seoul in 2022, I had the opportunity to try it, and I must say, I love it! It brings to mind the Chinese Twisted Fried Dough, Mahua ιΊ»θ±. If you enjoy Mahua, you'll likely appreciate Yakgwa as well!
Luckily, we found these delightful treats at MUSINSA Terrace Seongsu where Golden Piece had a small cafe + pop-up booth. It's a unique and memorable souvenir option, surpassing the usual choices of facial masks or Lotte Mart snacks. π― @Lemon8_SG
