Don't just deal with it, embrace it!

My eldest son, Aariz is obsessed with football. Ever since his neighbor friend invited him to watch a football match at a stadium last year, he's been hooked on the sport.

At first he just asked if he could get a football jersey. Knowing the price of the original ones in stores, hubs offered to get him one from Shopee instead, with his name and favorite number customised on the back. Alhamdulillah, he loved it!

Then hubs found a football club that trains not too far from home. Honestly, I wasn't sure if Aariz was up for all the running since he's a little on the heavy side. But when he insisted on joining, we signed him up to join The Sekolah Bola (TSB). They train every Sunday morning and we always stay to watch him. Apart from the exercise, it's nice that he gets to socialize and make new friends.

TSB would organize football clinics, sports carnivals and regular friendly matches. Of course as a show of support, we would let Aariz join most of them including those with extra fees. And I would always be that "soccer mom" cheering from the sidelines ☺️👏🏼 The exposure really helps build his confidence and makes him want to train better. As a bonus, he loves collecting all the medals and certificates to add onto his co-curricular activities 👍🏼

Apart from that, at home we also allocate time to let Aariz enjoy his favorite game FIFA on PS5. And when we go to the mall, I would take him window-shopping at Al-Ikhsan and let him try on boots that we promise to get him one day 😊
