I’ve always bought my iPhones directly in-store and never tried pre-ordering before. This time, I thought it would be fun to try getting the iPhone early through pre-order. However, when I reached the payment page in the Apple Store, I realized there was no installment option. So, I looked it up online and found out that to do installment payments, you have to either use their chat service or call them.

I first tried using the chat room function, but it kept showing “Temporary unavailable.” By 9pm, they had closed for the day. No problem, I thought, I’ll try again the next day. But since it was the weekend, chat wasn’t available, and I could only call. The hours said 10am to 9pm, but when I called at 10:30am, I couldn’t get through. The system said no specialists were available, and the call kept getting cut off.

I waited and tried again at 11:30am. After waiting an hour, I finally got connected to a specialist. It took about 18 minutes to confirm the product, address, and other details, but the process wasn’t done yet. One important thing to note: you need to provide the exact name on your card to speed up the verification process.

First, you’ll receive an email titled “Your order is almost complete.” Then, you’ll get another email asking you to “Complete payment for your Apple Order.” You need to click on that, enter your payment details, and choose the installment plan. Only after this is done, you’ll receive a “Your order is being processed” email, which means you’ve successfully purchased your iPhone!
