anybody else love begging their mom for lunchables for lunch in the early 2000s? that was ME through and through 🤫
now that i’m in my mid 20s my palate has obviously matured & my nutrition goals have shifted to more energizing, nutrient-dense, high protein foods but every now and then i crave a nostalgic food like this (and i love how easy it is to put together too)
sharing how i build a healthy high protein adult lunchable using my framework for building satiating meals (protein + fat + carbs + fiber/micronutrients) 👇🏼
🧀 meat - pick a form of meat or cold cut that you love and add ~2.5oz to your plate. i went with some antipasto with salami, coppa, & prosciutto because that’s what i love! this will be your primary source of protein in your meal
🧀 cheese - pick 2 slices of a cheese you love & add that to your plate as well. i went with havarti from trader joe’s! just protein alone isn’t enough to create a truly satiating meal - fat is needed to help you feel more full. it also adds a boost of protein to the plate!!
🧀 crackers - add some crackers to not only serve as a vessel for your meat & cheese but to add necessary carbs to your meal!
🧀 fruit or veg - because no meal is complete without a source of fiber & micronutrients, i had a peach on the side! i feel like the peach specifically went really well with this flavor profile 🥰
