This is my 2nd time doing 75 “Hard” (I never know what to call it, because it’s not the exact guidelines of the OG 75 Hard but I feel like calling it 75 Soft discredits how much of a challenge it still is). Here’s the daily guidelines I follow:
•1 gallon of water
•1 45-minute workout
•10 pages of a motivational/self-help book
•high protein diet (.8-1 gram per pound, so for me, about 108 grams a day)
•lunge 1/4 mile (one lap around the track)
What I’m NOT doing:
•taking a progress picture everyday - this challenge isn’t about a physical difference for me, although I’m certainly not mad about the physical benefits. I thrive on structure, and this challenge gives me that and also encourages me to continue fueling my body to feel the best it can (it’s insane how little soreness I feel when I’m eating enough protein and drinking enough water). Also, my husband and I are trying to start a family so if by the end of this 75 days I’m growing a human, that before and after picture ain’t gonna be shiiiiittt🤪
•following a strict, no “cheat meals” diet - my goal is to hit at least 108 grams of protein everyday. I make a conscious effort to do that in a healthy way, but I’m not about to say no to a bowl of ice cream, or worry about bringing a prepped meal to a friends house to make sure I’m not straying from a “diet”. That’s not realistic or desirable for my lifestyle. I ate half a bag of dill pickle chips the other day, but hey, ended up getting 8grams of protein so whatevzzzz
•no alcohol - I’m conscious about not drinking a lot of alcohol, because I don’t want to be hungover the next day and still have to achieve all my daily goals, but like I said, there’s a chance I could be carrying a baby by the end of this, so if I want a glass of wine with dinner or a couple mimosas with the girls, I’m enjoying it while I can🥂
I’m on day 21 right now, feeling really good, loving the structure, and don’t want to discredit my work by calling this “soft”.
*Also, since my husband and I are ttc, I’m definitely not going to push my body if I don’t feel good. If I feel like my body is asking me to chill out, this challenge ranks last on the priority list if it begins to affect my wellbeing in a negative way!
Does anyone else struggle with following a variation of 75 Hard but feeling like calling it “soft” discredits your work? It’s so annoying, because I don’t want to discredit the people that complete 75 Hard as it’s meant to be completed, I just wish there was a different term than “soft”. I sometimes refer to my challenge as 75 medium, but idk!!! This shit is hard too!!! Probs a mindset thing for me, I’ll work on it🤪
