From Disbelief to His Arrest (Part 4)

It all happened so fast.

The police escorted him to the control room at the MRT station. It was 11pm. I waited outside the MRT control room, thinking they would release him after a quick talk. Hours passed, and by 2am, the police came out. They told me he wasn’t being released and was going with them to the police station as they had found evidences on his phone.

I texted to let his brother know what had happened, but I was overwhelmed and alone walking home.

The next day, I went to his mother’s house to talk things through. As we sat there, he came in—handcuffed, both wrists and ankles, escorted by the police. I fought back tears as I watched them lead him to his room to find a specific Tshirt and pants.

The investigation officer (IO) was speaking with his mother in the living room. From where I sat, I overheard everything. The IO explained that a girl had reported him for taking an upskirt video of her at the MRT. They checked the CCTV footage, and there he was. The police had confirmed it was him by matching the clothes he wore in the footage to what they found in his room.

Later that night, his mother got a call. He could be bailed out for $5k. We rushed to the police station and got him out.

I couldn’t hold back any longer. I asked him directly, “What exactly did you get caught for?”

His answer… left me utterly shocked.
