1. someone else (or even you) can have good intentions for someone, but sometimes the impact you leave on them isn’t what you wanted it to be, they’re either hurt or angry, surprised, disappointed etc. even though you didn’t mean it. your intention doesn’t justify the impact

2. if you’re going above and beyond for someone and they’re not giving you the time of day, take this as your sign to let it go.

3. we all like to see ourselves as good people, people who would never intentionally hurt anyone. but being open to hearing someone’s side, listening and communicating you’re preventing a whole lot of hurt on both sides.

4. this one hits me the hardest. family, growing up together, spending years bonding and having thousands of memories is not an excuse for people to stick around even though it might be for you. sometimes they just don’t want that connection with you and that’s okay.
