This is your sign to get summer highlights

I finally dyed my hair after giving it a much needed break for 3 years. I wanted highlights but didn’t want to have a “streaky” or overly highlighted hair.

I put all of my faith into my hair stylist and told her to do what she does best so here’s a little breakdown of what we did so you can ask your stylist for the same thing:

— We kept a dark and natural root so my hair can have some natural growth

— She teased my root before adding the highlights to give it a more natural and lived in effect

— She highlighted my hair about 2 inches from my root and dragged them down

— She did a tap + tone to my hair which essentially keeps a dark root with lighter bottoms

— She cut some long layers and some face framing pieces
