The Glass Castle - A memoir by Jeanette Walls

This story was truly an emotional roller coaster. This had beautiful and happy moments but lots of heart breaking, jaw dropping moments. This is a life story of Jeanette written from her earliest childhood memories all the way through some of her adult life showing all of her strength and resilience. This looks into a highly dysfunctional family and shocking/horrible parenting and adventures they take.

While there are happy moments in this memoir, I found it to be very heavy and I had to read through it slowly because of the emotional effect it had. There are so many shocking things in this that it really doesn’t seem like this could be someone’s real life.

I highly recommend this if you’re looking for a really emotional read. This was so well written and her story is one that should truly be read by everyone.
