If you go to the gym, it’s most likely that you’ve heard of the term “progressive overload”… for anyone that wants to build muscle and do it efficiently and optimally, you HAVE to be incorporating progressive overload.

But what is progressive overload?

Progressive overload is where you gradually increase weight and number of reps you do during your workouts.

For example, if one day I did 4 sets of 10 reps of RDL’s with 20lbs dumbbells, that would be a sign to increase my weight and pick a weight where I can do 4 sets of 6-8 reps instead of 10 reps.

A good rule to follow is this…

• If you fall below 6 reps, decrease the weight, its too heavy for you

• If you fall between 6-8 reps, keep the weight how it is

• If you go over 8 reps, increase the weight, it’s too easy for you now
