If you’re going to the gym very consistently, training hard and lifting heavy weight, but are starting to notice your strength decreasing and getting tired quicker, you’re probably in need of a deload.
What is a deload?
A deload is defined as a phase in your training where you decrease the weight and intensity for a week so your body can recover from the amount of high intensity training you have been doing.
When should you deload?
The usual time you should deload is every 4-6 weeks or so. It depends on your body and you’re you’re feeling, some people can go longer without deloading and some people need to do it in a shorter amount of time. It also depends on how intense you train in the gym!
I deload once I notice my strength going down, I’m feeling sore for longer periods of time and it takes a while to recover!
