Why painting/replacing door frame ✨matters✨

I would’ve retained the original HDB bifold doors to save hassle… but the magnetism of the doors were so strong that it would be too loud if we were to use the toilet at night.

Another reason was also due to the smaller space in MBR toilet and we could not fit a proper vanity unless we customise through our ID. It exceeded our expected budget so I sourced on Taobao for an angled vanity instead. We still had to change the doors to minimise chances of us banging onto the vanity when we open/close the bifold doors.

🛒 OUR TOILET DOORS

Decided to go with this groupbuy for slide & swing door. It was either a white or black frame and since we have black accents in the house, we thought to go ahead with black frame. For black frames, it’s also an additional cost. Different design of the panels come at different cost as well.

When we first replaced our toilet doors, I kind of regretted choosing a black frame and also this textured panel. It blends so awkwardly with the house theme and also with HDB’s door frame.

Even my ID thinks that this textured panel colour is weird/ugly🤣 but that was before all the other black fixtures/furnitures came in.

🎨 PAINTING OVER HDB DOOR FRAME

We got our ID to paint over the main frames so that they would look more in place. Cons is that our ID mentioned that this is a special paint and the paint job done is a little blotchy. Not sure if it’s the painter’s issue because they already tried to rectify 3 times.

If we had more budget, I would have removed the HDB frames instead if possible. Another option would’ve been to choose a colour that matches the wooden frame instead.

Once all the furnitures were in, the black frames for the toilet matches well with the overall house.
