HDB DOOR FRAME GIVING ME PROBLEMS

Another day, another Reno disaster!!

If you didn’t read why I engaged a defect checker previously, check this out:

He told me the door frame done by HDB is slanted!

This is being reported to the BSC and nothing has been done about it! They merely removed the blue tapes away! My defect checker came for the 3rd trip and even told me that they did not rectify this at all.. I ask them to go rectify again! Wait and wait and wait and in the end it is still freaking slanted!!! 🚪

I took matters into my own hand and told my contractor to remove it entirely. ⚒️

On hindsight, we should have done it first thing before our floor tilings are done.. now is like have to remove skirting to put the architrave frame and then remove here and there and put it back and all these add on to be extra costs!!! 💸💰

Apparently the door frames are more expensive than the doors !! 😭😭😤

I thought we can just paint over the frame instead of having it laminated the same as the door itself.. but no.. the entire frame itself is slanted so external party doors cannot even fit!!

The funny thing is after we removed the HDB door frame, there’s a freaking hole that normal door frame cannot cover.. we have to do an architrave frame which is even more expensive!! And then the new HDB door sizes are apparently all oversized?! 😕 one thing adds on to the other. The hole has also to be filled with cement first.. which my contractor’s worker forgot to do so in the master bedroom.. now have to ask to redo!!! 😑 this led to my pictures 2-4.. 🤦🏻‍♀️..

my renovation is kinda halted as I’m waiting for the carpentry. Will keep you guys updated again soon. 🪚
