a 40 day period?!?!??

🩸i got my period back 3 months post partum. my obgyn said it was a good time for me to come in to get an IUD placed. i got the procedure and all went well. i reached the 5 day mark when my period usually ends and instead of the bleeding getting lighter, it got heavier and i began to experience intense cramping.

🥺on day 9 i gave my obgyn a call. she said it was totally normal and i would be back to normal soon. she said to take tylenol, rest up and drink water.

🤒on day 20 i was exhausted and nauseous. i was running a low grade fever so i called my obgyn again. she got me an emergency ultrasound appointment. my IUD was imbedded into my cervix.

👩🏻‍⚕️after an emergency removal i felt so much better. my period continued for another 20 days but it eventually got lighter and the cramps stopped
