she called the cops on me…

hii guys today i js wanna rant a little n share my experience + my key takeaway from that day😇 grab a drink cuz this post is gonna be kinda long HAHAHA ☕️

also before i begin, this happened 2 weeks back, and i’m only posting it now when she isnt at that booth anymore, out of respect.

so basically i was w a friend at somerset and was about to fetch my little brother from the skatepark. as i was walking towards the skatepark yk one of the entrance has like a bunch of pop-up booths? yeah i saw a few booths selling jewellery and went to take a look (i can never have enough bracelets). so i went to one of the booths that was selling bracelets and started looking around. the booth lady emerged from behind her booth n asked if i needed help w anytg i said “nope im just browsing thank you!” then i was js talking to my friend and pointing out which ones i liked. i saw one that was super cute & i asked the lady “may ik if these bracelets are waterproof?” and she went to explain that yes but you have to avoid chemicals etc. then i was like ohh okayy so i cant shower w them? (i ask bc all my jewellery are tarnish proof & i dont ever take any of them off even when i shower so i just wanted to make sure). then she said you have to be careful bc there’ll be wear & tear n you shld avoid soap etc. so for the price which was like $70+ i decided not to buy the bracelet bc it sounded like it wld actl tarnish. i js said “ohh i see, okay thank you!” n started to walk to the next booth. everything was okay until.. 😭

so as i faced the next booth n started to walk off, i heard her say “ugh typical gen-z’s , always asking so many questions” to the person next to her. girl when i tell u my jaw DROPPED. i was the only youngster near the area so clearly she was talking ab me.. dude i immediately turned my head n faced her.. n my expression was literally like 😦. she saw me turn to her n as we made eye contact she ROLLED HER EYES AT ME. guys when i tell you im usually a very patient person and can tolerate bullsh!t but the moment i feel disrespected….i dont let shit slide😐 so after she rolled her eyes at me we maintained eye contact n i walked up to her and said very nicely btw “excuse me do you have a problem?” n she gave me the most sarcastic smile n went “no, you can leave”… babes who are you to ask a customer to leave? at this point so many things were gg thru my head n my thoughts were like: firstly wtf is wrong w asking questions ?? as a potential customer i have every right to ask about the product i wanna purchase?? and why is a grown ass lady rolling her eyes at me?? and u wanna talk about gen-z’s when ure acting like a child ??. and im speaking respectfully n can ask me to leave your booth?? babes u dont own the place. so i went “you wanna talk about gen-z’s but you’re a grown ass adult behaving so immaturely, i suggest u reflect on yourself before talking about others” . then she gave me that sarcastic smile again n said “i dont need your advice, you can leave now”. bro when she said this i started fuming n my friend said js ignore her n dragged me away.

as my friend dragged me off i was thinking like yea i shouldnt entertain these kind of people but at the same time she shldnt get away with being so rude to her customers, other people should know of it. its simple, good business = we recommend to others, bad business = we warn others of it. so i went back to snap a photo of her booth name (my intentions was never to viral her or anything, i just wanted the name of the business) as i was taking a picture, she stormed up to me, pointing at me n she looked like she was boutta start a fight😭😭 (the pic was a live pic & looking back at it now, i can see the live motion of her cmg up to me💀💀) then she was like “i told you to leave! u cannot take pictures of my booth” n i js calmly said “oh, no i just wanted to get your business name”. bro she was fumingggg (clearly just scared that i would viral her business) guys her eyes was so wide open it literally looked like it was boutta pop out her head icl😭😭 then was like screaming at me “i told you to leave this place! do you want me to call the police? the police station is so near here they can come right now!” i was js like 😀😀 n i said “there’s no need to, we can settle this maturely, and even if you do call the police, i didnt do anything wrong so there’s no point”. then she pulled out her phone n started dialing the police.

the police picked up almost immediately n this is what i heard her say “hi i have a booth for my business at somerset and there are 2 teenagers here harrassing my business… yes she’s still here right now… i told her to leave and she doesnt wanna leave… okay thank you..” then when she put down the phone i said “no need to involve my friend, whtever issue you have is between me and you” (bc in the call she said teenagers when literally my friend didnt utter a single word to her so like wtf dont drag my friend into this) then she smiled at me sarcastically (AGAIN) and said “the police r otw”. n at this point i cldnt be bothered already clearly she cant be reasoned with and is too immature to talk to😭 so i was js like “alright no worries” then she went n sat back at her booth. i could hear her mumbling to the lady next to her smtg like “she still can stand there eh” but i just ignored.

after like 10 mins the police still hvent arrived and my younger brother called me asking whr im at cz that he was done skating. so i was js like whatever im not gonna waste my time anym n left. okay thats all but before i end this post here’s some things i wanna say! :

1)on my end, i probably shouldnt have entertained since the start and i fully admit that i couldve just walked off and ignored her first remark. i was just not having it that day so thats a lesson to learn:-)

2)i hope people realise that as a business owner, YOU ARE THE FACE OF YOUR COMPANY. everything you say or do WILL reflect your business. so act appropriately, and keep whatever personal issues you have aside when doing business.

3)age is nothing, maturity is everything. you could be old as hell but a 15 year old could be more intellectual than you. so lets not judge and put aside whatever stereotypes there are out there about gen-z’s or whatever😭😭

and to end off, there will always be people like this. so pls learn from my lesson and just ignore in the future for your own sake. bc that whole experience ruined my mood for the rest of the day. & out of respect for the lady, i will not be posting the picture of her booth that i took. im just taking this as a learning experience for myself & to inform others!
