Travel-skincare packing tips

I’ve had the privilege to travel to 5 cities in 2022, and have become very comfortable with picking out my skincare for each place I’m going! I have a lot of satchet samples & mini bottles, so I like to optimise according to expiry date & product size when travelling (use up expiring ones first, and only bring minis for longer trips). Once that consideration is settled, here are my core considerations in choosing my skincare for the trip:

PS. I’m dehydrated-oily, acne-proned!!

1. Focus on hydration

With hotel stays and drinking less water, or being subject to a drier climate than what you’re used to, it’s very easy for your skin to become dehydrated! I make it a point to load up on hydrators in the toner and serum step! Sometimes, my day routine is purely for hydration!

2. Choose an spf suited to the destination’s climate & your activities

This is definitely applicable even when not traveling! You want to bring your spfs suited to your itinerary! For eg, I brought a moisturing spf to Korea, a waterproof spf to Bali. I tend to enjoy some skin-refining properties in my travel spf too!

3. Restore your skin with your night routine

Even if your skin is doing good, don’t make the mistake of leaving your retinoids out of your packing list 😅 I like to bring a gentle, nourishing retinoid for night use, which I will use either before or after moisturiser!
