Nami Island (Korea) pros & cons

Is it worth going to Nami Island while in Seoul?

Weighing the pros and cons of spending time at Nami Island while you're in Korea, and giving you some tips if you decide to go!

Pros 👍🏻

- easy half-day trip

- photo opportunities everywhere

- you will see alot of cute dogs

- autumn leaves!!

Cons 👎🏻

- long commute with several changes (train, taxi, ferry)

- costly! entrance will be ~$16 including the ferry, and the food there is cafe/restaurant pricing

- mostly for taking pictures. Don't go there if you're not up for taking photos!

Tips:

- aim to go in the morning! We felt we got the best pictures in the morning, and there's less crowd too

- take a taxi to the "wharf" for the ferry. It's well worth it... only ~$4 making it cheaper than the tour bus option LOL

- Make sure to walk all the way in to the other end of the island, to experience a different vibe from the entrance. Think "moody forest" and also a dog park area!

- when researching Nami, you will see other “attractions” like petite france, garden of morning calm, and some rail park! Take note that these are not on Nami Island, but in the town you take the ferry from. So you have to plan time and commute for that separately ~

- Skip the hotteok... the queue is really long, and though it's still affordable at ~$2, it was stiff and tiring to chew. Not worth it.

- When returning, literally run ahead of the crowd to the main road to get to the taxi stand first!!!!!
