Hotels to stay/avoid when in Switz🇨🇭

Accommodations in Switzerland can be very costly esp if you book late or if you're looking for a place w high footfall eg Zermatt. I booked the following places in early November for my trip in March😅 it might seem early but according to my friends/family who had been here, I could have saved at least $50-100 per night if I booked in Sept/Oct🙃

🏨Hotel Montana Zurich

✔️ Good location , near Zurich HB

✔️ Near Zurich Landmarks for sight seeing

✔️ Good breakfast variety

❌ No amenities

❌ No A/C (impt to note for summer/spring)

❌ Troublesome check in process

6/10 Recommend in the winter only

🏨Hotel Holiday Zermatt

✔️ Good room layout

✔️ Good breakfast variety

✔️ Fast check in process

✔️ Good views

✔️ Electric Taxi for CHF 5 per person

❌ 800m walk from Zermatt Stn

❌ No amenities

8/10 Recommend but might not be the best choice if you have young kids or elderly you have to walk uphill

🏨Hotel Krebs Interlaken

✔️ Good room layout

✔️ Amenities

✔️ Good breakfast spread

✔️ Good locations, near Interlaken West Stn

✔️ Fast check in process

✔️ Bottled water provided

10/10 Recommend!!! Sells out fast so book early

🏨Ibis Styles Lucerne

✔️ Walkable from Lucerne Stn

✔️ Near busstop

✔️ Near landmarks for sight seeing

❌ No amenities

❌ Near bars/pubs, can be very noisy at night

❌ Poor beds

❌ Some rooms are older & smaller

0/10 its a no for me, although it was affordable I rather pay more for a place that I can sleep comfortably

The best was definitely Hotel Kerbs at Interlaken. The room was super spacious, there were lots of sockets, they gave amenities & bottled water! Hotel Holiday in Zermatt was also good, i loved the cottages vibes which most of the chalets/hotels there have. The room was also very cozy & my room had an insane view of the Matterhorn🗻❄️

The worst was Ibis Styles in Lucerne, the location was okay but the bed made it such a horrible stay🙃 there was no spring support so you can literally feel your body sinking in. My room was the older & smaller one but my family got the bigger & newly renovated ones🙃 its also near bars/pubs so its super noisy at night😑 you can jear people screaming & shouting till 2am
