.| must try for matcha lovers🍵

this cafe was recommended to me & my friend while we were planning our trip to KL. As we like matcha, we decided to stop by & give it a try!

📍NIKO NEKO Matcha 2.0 - ChinaTown KL

when we first entered, we instantly noticed the stylish grey & black minimalistic vibes that we love alot. also, the aircon is so strong in there which is so good for us as the weather was very humid that day so this cafe is also a good spot in chinatown to hide away from the heat & cool down. the staffs are friendly & welcoming towards us when we are ordering.

There were 4 main types of 'ceremical' matcha you can order. Me & my friend ordered the first 2 on the menu.

High Umami savouriness, high creaminess, clean aftertaste.

My friend got this & she said that it was really rich in flavour & sweetness was just right. Really good matcha with clean flavour, it is the perfect choice for first-timers here :]

🍵KIKU/Matcha

High Umami savouriness, med pistachio-ish nuttiness, hint of bitterness

Just like Ren, i can taste strong matcha. it was not too thick nor watery, neither was it too sweet. it really felt like the perfect balance.

💭we aren't major matcha enthusiasts... BUT we will love to drink this daily :]! we are both baristas so we have tried bad matcha before & Niko Neko really has one of the best matchas we have tasted !!

🍰YURI/Matcha mini Burnt Cheesecake

Served with cream on its side, the cheesecake is so impacted with savoury matcha flavours. i can really taste how high quality & it is compared to typical dessert places. it is a small peace but you can get full from it. i would recommend your to get it with a drink as they pair together well :p!

my friend isn't a fan of genmaicha but even she said it is delicious. i personally prefer this one over the matcha one as i really like the extra burnt smokey ish flavour from this one. it really comes down the personally preferences but if you like more smokey textures, i would suggest you to get this one :>

💭personally, i find it a bit pricey for how small the pieces are but i will still get it again next time as it is very deliciousss. am still craving it rn while type this out.
