MARKET BLUE: The K Heaven To Visit 🇰🇷💙

Finally! I’ve been wanting to check this place out ever since it blew up on TikTok. For some reason, I’ve always thought Market Blue was really far away but no! Located in Tanglin Mall, this place is less than 5mins away from Orchard Boulevard MRT 🚇

My friend kindly gave me a good birthday treat here and the food did not disappoint 😋 Here’s what we ordered:

🍢 Rosé tteokbokki $23

I’ve been wanting to try this dish for the longest time. As someone who isn’t the best at taking spice, this tteokbokki option had the right about if spice as we were able to indicate the level of spiciness we wanted too! The rice cakes were so soft and chewy 🤤 Sauce had just the right consistency too! Though the menu suggested that this was a sharing dish for at most 3 pax, if you’re hanging out with friends who are small eaters, this dish sure can stretch out to a 4 pax sharing dish.

🥘 Grilled Pork Belly with Steamed Kimchi $30.90

This dish kinda blew me away ngl 😲 Generous portions of pork belly were given with loads of kimchi! When eating, be sure to take a slice of pork belly and pair with one of the kimchi leaves in the stew. The sweet and spicy juices from the kimchi would ooze out and it makes a good combination with the savoury pork 😮‍💨

The overall space gave marché vibes as the seating area was well spread out and every table had lots of space. The design of each stall has a retro touch to it as well!

After our meal, there was a mini shopping area that should a huge array of Korean snacks, indie and hiphop vinyls, local clothing and even a photobooth with a special IVE event going on!

Me and my friend had such an easy and chill time in Market Blue with barely any crowd since we went on a weekday 😌 I’ll definitely be back to browse more at their shopping section as well as try their baekchan which is highly recommended on TikTok!
