IS IT WORTH QUEUING FOR ? 🤔🇲🇾

have you heard of the HIGHLY RAVED #orientalkopi in JB? I visited the one located at City Square and lucky for me, i only had to wait for ~10 mins. Went on a monday afternoon and the queue wasn’t that long !! 😁

Ordered 6 items in total for 2 pax and it was SUPER FILLING !! & only cost $23.2 which is soso worth considering that i got 2 mains, 2 toast and 2 drinks. They have also a wide selection of food (SPOILT FOR CHOICES) and everything there looks so yums ! 😩 Not only that, they also serve desserts ranging from chendol, mango ice, peach gum dessert, tangyuan and even gui ling gao 😱🍧

Apart from their food menu, they also sell their own kaya spread, signature coffee☕️, packaged traditional noodles, different variety of packed coffee and even 🍍 tarts which are good for gifting !! ALSO NOT FORGETTING THEIR POPULAR EGG TARTS (which i did not get a chance to try as i was too full) but they make it fresh daily!

These are the items that i ordered,

1. Hainanese Chicken Rice🍚 - 18.90RM , 4/5

THIS WAS ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD !! The rice was fragrant and paired rly well with their garlic chilli (i even asked for a second serving😂) The portion for the chicken was quite alot and the slices were thick, chicken was fresh and juicy !! Soup was pretty normal.

2. Oriental Fried Chicken Meat Mee Siam - 18.90RM, 3/5

Mee Siam was vv flavourful and paired well with the sambal chilli, has bits of fishcake and tau pok in it. However, the chicken🍗was quite dry and didnt have as much flavour. But portion was reasonable for the price!

3. Oriental Iced Mocha - 12.90RM, 2.5/5

Was pretty alright, taste just like a mix of choco and coffee, but taste of coffee was stronger. However, was diluted towards the end :-(

4. Oriental White Coffee - 6.50RM, 3/5

Too sweet for my liking, but had a strong aroma of coffee !!

5. 👑 Double Butter Kaya Toast (MY TOP PICK) - 4.90RM , 5/5

EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS IS 😩😩 ALREADY MISSING THIS OMG… The toast was well toasted, SUPERSUPER GENEROUS WITH THE FILLING !! It was so messy to eat as the kaya kept dripping out but THIS IS A MUST TRY WHEN YOUR HERE !! The slab of butter was thick too 🤤 and the kaya isn’t that sweet too! ( can choose between pandan and coconut kaya) i chose the coconut one !

6. Oriental Polo Bun - 7.90RM , 4/5

This was pretty good too !! Had the right balance of sweet, buttery, and crisp to it, was served with 2 large slabs of cold 🧈 and condensed milk. Polo bun paired rly well with the cold butter & condensed milk ! However, maybe cos i got the kaya butter toast too, thts why it got jelak after awhile.( too much butter 😂)

Overall, oriental kopi is worth a visit especially since its just located at the basement of city square, beside chagee. They do have a few outlets around JB too ! Do try to come during the wkdays so that there wld not be much of a queue. Would highly recommend to try the Double Butter Kaya Toast !! 🤤😋 Do also lmk if the egg tart is good too !!
