HOW TO STYLE: MAXI SKIRTS

Maxi skirts have been such a hot trend this summer and from I’ve been seeing it’ll be following us into the fall!🍂 I personally love maxi skirts because they make me look taller and you can wear them to go out or make it a bit more conservative for the office. If you’re in need for some inspo on how to style maxi skirts for summer and early fall, check out my examples above!

Matching skirt and top color + belt

One of my favorite outfit “formulas” is long skirt, tiny top! This is exactly what I did for this outfit. My skirt is the Izzi Skirt from Brandy Melville (Size Small, $32, Product SKU: MH361F-Z129S1620000). My top is the White Cargo Lace Up Pocket Detail Top from PrettyLittleThing (Size 0, Color: White, $29.00). To spice up any maxi skirt and make it a but more boho, add a chunky vintage belt. Mine was thrifted, but I’ve been seeing these all over Depop and Amazon as well!

Plain skirt + patterned top

Continuing with the long skirt tiny top trend, this outfit features a thrifted cream pleated skirt and a patterned I AM GIA top (No longer on site, Size XS). I love the plain and patterned look together. I’d recommend choosing a top that has the same colors as your accessories. For insane, my top was tan and black, so I made sure all my accessories were tan and black!

Skirt + Top Set

You literally can’t go wrong with a matching set! I just picked out two slip garments from the sleepwear section of a thrift store and paired them together for a perfect “set”. My tip is to of course try to match colors but also details. For instance, both my top and bottom have lace detailing which makes them go better together!
