What I did after I found mold on the bread 😶‍🌫️

Fyi I bought the bun 3-4 days ago, I bought 3 buns in total and I had 2 buns the day before. I know that this bun expired on 23 Oct so I intend to eat in school on 23 Oct itself - still hasn’t expired yet right?

The bun was abnormally bloated and when I opened, there’s like weird gassy sound & I thought that it was weird la. Thankfully I saw opened at the end where the mold was visible to me, if I opened it at the other end where I’m not sure if there’s mold or not. After seeing it, I quickly took a photo and emailed gardenia to notify them this issue. I wanted to inspect other parts of the bun for molds but I was annoyed and disgusted by it so I just quickly threw it away.

The next day, gardenia got back to me, apologised and they wanted to replace and collect the moulds cream roll but unfortunately I had threw it away. I learned that if there is such encounter, it’s best to keep and evidence somewhere and return to them and allow them do further investigation. After knowing that I had threw it away, they still offered me complimentary cream rolls, that was sent to my doorstep the next day.

Tbh not a good experience but I’m still quite satisfied at their customer service and prompt response. Unlike BreadTalk, where I found a strand of hair in the sandwich but they didn’t respond at all 🤬
