I have never stayed at a hotel with ZERO reviews, but I really liked how the room looked and the fact that this hotel had only opened a month before my stay (Nov 18) was a huge plus as it guaranteed it would be super clean.

I took a leap of faith and I’m so glad I did.

Location: 호텔 베르 (Hotel Vert)

Pros: ➕

1) Excellent location.

- Literally 1min walk from the airport limousine bus stop. Take 9015 and get off at the Ibis Hotel Stop.

- Located in the heart of Myeongdong. It’s located right opposite Lotte Department store and next to the Myeongdong night market.

- 3min walk to Eljuiro 1 ga station and loads of buses to everywhere. We even had a direct bus to places like Eunpyeong Hanok Village which is 1h away from the heart of Seoul near the mountains.

- Very safe area for solo travellers / women. This hotel is a few steps into a non-shady alley off the Main Street. This was a huge plus as you won’t have to walk into any secluded areas at night. There’s also a few major bus stops at the Main Street so this area is busy (even at midnight there are loads of people waiting for buses) but it’s not noisy at all.

- Many 24h food places and convenience stores within 5min walking distance. There’s an Olive Young inside the alley like 30s away too.

2) No plug adapters required, they have international sockets. We could use our sg plugs straight.

3) Plug sockets and light controls beside each bed (we were 3 people)

4) The room is very spacious and even has a KITCHEN with a stove and exhaust thing. There’s a big fridge and knives, pots and pans, etc. provided. Literally everything you could need to cook. I personally didn’t use this but it’s very useful if you do cook on trips.

5) There’s a TV with Netflix and all.

6) The staff are very friendly and helpful. They speak English and can also help with recommendations if you need any.

Cons: ➖

1) I was unable to pay the bill with YouTrip for some reason. I was quite upset about this as paying with my SG card cost me 40 dollars extra. I’m not sure why it didn’t work multiple times as my YouTrip card was accepted everywhere else.

2) The pillows are too high. I could only make it work by sleeping on my side. May seem like a small thing, but it really affects your quality of sleep.

💰 Price: The room for 3 people was $100 per person per night. There are cheaper options for sure, but I’m happy with this hotel and would absolutely stay here or at least in this area the next time I’m back.
