I just visited Seoul and Jeju Island 🇰🇷 in what I’d call a fall - winter transition season. The average temperatures were about 6-7 degrees in the day with the mornings and nights being close to zero degrees. I thought to post about what I wore as I really struggled to pack, having never been in those temperatures before.
📝 Things to note:
1) Beware of the wind 🌬️ I didn’t feel very cold in Seoul as although it was close to zero at night, there was barely any wind. I felt completely fine wearing ultra warm Heattech and a knit sweater. I found myself carrying my winter coat in my hand and I really did not need it. Jeju Island on Day 6 was the only day where I felt miserable even in 9 degree weather, as there was SO MUCH WIND!
2) Base layer is super important to not look like a dumpling. I would highly reccomend Ultra warm Heattech from Uniqlo, as it made me feel invincible. ‼️‼️‼️PRO TIP: If you are my build or smaller, buy from the kids section!! It’s so much cheaper and the 160cm size for 13-14 year old kids was not even tight on me ‼️‼️‼️
3) Winter Accessories are more impactful than just layering clothes. I found that wearing gloves, scarves and ear muffs helped a lot instead of layering more jackets and coats🧣🧤🎧
4) Hot packs from Decathlon are great but don’t stick it on your skin as it will burn you. Stick it on your clothes instead.
Outfit details ☃️
Day 1:
Skirt - Zara
Top - Uniqlo ultra warm Heattech crew neck in Kids 160 and Uniqlo turtleneck fleece heattech in XL.
Scarf- Cashmere scarf from Uniqlo but it was bought years ago.
Stockings - Fleece stockings from Taobao
Boots - Lutvelizade
Day 2:
Dress - Zara
Sweater- Lovers and Friends via Revolve
Red Mary Janes - Shopee
Sunglasses - Ray Bans (I removed the logo on the lens as it’s prescription lenses lol)
Socks - Uniqlo heattech (just wear fleece socks instead - Heattech socks were totally useless)
(I’m wearing the heattech top and fleece tights under)
Day 3:
Faux fur coat - $50 from a vintage shop in Seoul (I didn’t get the name but lmk if if interested, I have the location pin on my phone lol)
Faux leather pants - $26 from a store in Myeongdong (I also have the location pin for this but didn’t take down the name 😂)
Shoes: Wannabe Uggs from a random store in Hongdae Shopping Street
Day 4:
Dress - Maternity knit dress from Love Bonito. (If you are not superstitious, I find knit maternity clothes to be so comfortable and relaxed.)
Jacket - Love Bonito cropped faux fur jacket
Ear muffs - Bought in Seoul for $5 - they are everywhere
Day 5:
Sweater: H&M
Skirt: JCrew (impulse buy - this was WAY too expensive for a satin skirt. Please get it elsewhere if you want. Plenty of other options available 😂)
I had planned the day 1 boots for this outfit but decided to prioritise comfort instead.
The temperature on this rare day was 17 degrees so I didn’t really need anything else.
Day 6:
Coat -Gotomall Underground Shopping Mall for $50 in Seoul
Knit top - Love Bonito
Gloves - Random GS25 in Seoul for 10bux
Day 7:
Puffer - $50 in Hongdae
Now that I’ve conquered beginner winter - time to hit the snow next! 🌨️🏔️🏂
Stay warm ♨️
