Learning what foods to eat in each area of Italy is SO important to get an authentic experience, and taste the yummiest foods from that region 🇮🇹🍝

So, what to eat in Sicily???

Busiate al Pesto Trapanese - This pasta dish is from Trapani, a popular city on the west coast of Sicily which is made from tomatoes, almonds, basil, garlic, and Parmesan cheese 🍅

Canoli - This an infamous desert I’m sure you’ve heard of, which has a crispy, pastry shell filled with a ricotta cream 🤤

Frutta Marturana - This is a desert made from marzipan, shaped into different fruits. In my opinion, it’s more beautiful than tasty🫣

Pasta alla Norma - This was my favorite Sicilian dish I ate! It’s a pasta dish with tomato, eggplant, and salted ricotta 🍆

Sicilian Spritz - I didn’t even know this drink existed before going to Sicily but I LOVED it. It’s basically an Aperol Spritz with lemon soda instead of sparkling water. 🍹

Arancini - This is a popular Sicilian street food. It’s a deep-fried rice ball, filled with various fillings. I tried prosciutto and cheese and it was delicious 🧀

Granita - This is the perfect sweet, cold treat for the Sicilian heat. It reminded me of a slushee, but elevated. I tried various types, but the most authentic one was made from fresh peaches, water, and sugar (pictured) 🍧

Gelato in Brioche - BEST FOR LAST!! If you eat anything in Sicily, please eat this 🤤 it’s the best thing I’ve ever had in my life, especially at 2:00AM when you’re a little tipsy haha 🍦
