HI GUYS IT’S ME AGAIN 🤓
i'll explain step by step on how to pass each stage. for private, there's a total of 3 stages; BTT, FTT and TP Test. there is no pass or fail for simulators, you are just required to attend and complete all 3.
1️⃣ BTT: study the basic theory book, read through every single page carefully and your chances of passing will be 99%. almost everything you need to know will be in the theory book. book a practice session right before your test. i scored 98% (49/50) and to pass, u would have to score 90% and above (45/50)
2️⃣ FTT: read through the final theory book but i don't think it's as helpful as basic theory book so u can skip this step. i did a lot of mock tests online and booked a practice session before my test. i also scored 98% (49/50) and to pass, u would have to score 90% and above (45/50)
here are some links that will be useful for your BTT and FTT revision:
- singapore police force website for mock test (there's btt and ftt handbook here too, login with singpass)
https://eservices.police.gov.sg/content/policehubhome/homepage/mock-theory-test-singpass.html
- https://www.basictheorytestsg.com/
3️⃣ TP Test:
- make notes after every lesson, especially for circuit there is lots of steps to take note of 📝
- review your notes before the start of every lesson to refresh your memory! 🧠
- one week before my test, i revisited my notes every single day without fail till it was at the back of my head.
- try to book as many lessons as possible 2 weeks before your test.
- book a circuit as a warm-up test right before your actual test 🚗
- note: circuit is always the one that causes people to fail (mount curb leads to immediate failure)
- my test was at 8.25am (peak hour) and u know how people always say don't book your test during peak hours, i didn't care because most of my lessons were during that time anyways. but one thing i have noticed was my test route was cut short BY ALOT and i probably only did 1/3 or 1/4 of the entire test route because of the peak hours... so there are pros and cons, it's really up to you 😃
- if u have any last min questions, don't be scared to ask your instructor, ALWAYS CLARIFY. 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♂️
HOW TO PASS CIRCUIT:
- MOVE SLOWLY. 🐌 moving at a slow speed allows you sufficient time to react to mistakes and correct them.
for example, for the S course, if you are moving too fast there's a very high chance you will mount the curb. for both vertical and parallel parking as well, reverse slowly.
- for parking and directional change, always check your side mirrors and the rear of the car in order not to mount curb. 🚘
- MEMORISE all the steps for circuit and practice more! trust me practice makes perfect, u will definitely be able to do well if you just have all the steps at the back of ur mind. 🧠
- this might sound stupid but what i did was, i will close my eyes and imagine the scenario instead like im in the car driving, it helps for me :)
- if u manage to do well in circuit, no doubt u will be able to pass your driving test (most of my demerit points came from the road test)
**another thing i did before my test was i prayed to Guan Yin Ma... 🙏🏻 HAHAHAHAH i even said if i pass on my first try i won't eat beef for 2 months and i actually passed. soooo im beef-free now 🥩 heh (it might not work for everyone IDK)
THAT'S ALL I CAN ADVISE YOU GUYS! 🤩 ultimately, it is still up to how determined you are. i really like driving so i was so determined to get my license on my first try ✊🏻 also because my BBDC membership account was expiring on my test date so if i were to fail, i would have to pay extra to renew my account and another $400 to take the test again 💸 most importantly, i would have to spend a lot more on additional lessons too since i would most likely have to wait another 3 months for my second test (it's super hard to book slots for bbdc) WASTE OF TIME 🕰️ AND MONEY 💰
SO YA! JUST MY 2 CENTS, if you have any questions, feel free to comment down below or drop me a PM ✌🏻 ALL THE BEST ✨💪🏻
