hello 🍋! Recently I brought my BF out on a date to this Sichuan Restaurant & we were pleasantly surprised by the experience! The food was SO GOOD that he asked me the next day when are we going back again 😂😌

This Sichuan restaurant is none other than Tong Fu Ju Sichuan Restaurant — and yes, it’s really popular on Lemon8! It has an amazing sea view, serves delicious authentic Sichuan food + it’s super affordable ☺️ don’t be mistaken that the dishes are only for spice lovers! it’s great for those of you who are not into spice too! 🌶️

imo this restaurant is really special because !!!! there’s an amazing view !!!!!! There are both indoor & outdoor seatings - I’d recommend to make a booking with request for outdoor seating if you’d like to enjoy the 🌊 view. The restaurant is located conveniently at CBD area, so frankly v accessible!

✧ Dishes we ordered ✧

​1. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗪𝗮𝘆𝘀

✨ this was one of the more interesting & value-for-money dishes we ate, and the one my bf enjoyed the most! you can choose either 2 flavours of one fish, or 2 dishes out of the 4 options:

— Grilled Fish 🐟 (SIGNATURE DISH)

*choice of sauce: hot & spicy sauce / chopped chilli / Tom yum sauce / tomato sauce / pickled cabbage / pickled peppers / fermented beans

— CrayFish 🦞 (MUST TRY)

*choice of sauce: mala sauce / garlic sauce

— Braised Chicken with Potato & Green Pepper 🐔

— Lamb Spine 🐑

✨ we decided to go with their signature dish, the grilled fish with tomato as our base 🍅 and crayfish with garlic sauce as our base 🧄 love how we could select our base sauce, it really caters to people who can’t really take spice well (like my BF)!

✨ WE TRIED OUT THE DISHES AND WE WERE SO BLOWN AWAY, even exclaiming that we can potentially bring our parents.

✨ Grilled Fish with Tomato Base 🐟🍅: fish was nicely drenched in tomato sauce - it was super tender, fresh & juicy! + fairly easy to slice & debone (didn’t get to interact w any bones at all lol). In particular, I really LOVED the tomato soup. It’s not as thick as HDL’s for sure, but I kept drinking the sauce as soup throughout dinner.

✨ CrayFish with Garlic Sauce 🦞🧄: YUMSSSS!! The CrayFish was nicely seasoned with garlic sauce, my bf loved this the most!!!!!! slurps 😌🫶🏻 We found that the meat was succulent & tender, and wasn’t fishy at all. The only downside is that you need to peel the crayfish yesterday but ISOKKKK bf’s job 🤪🤣

2. 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼 🥔

✨ This was super addictive, bc iyk me I LOVEEEE potatoes! when my BF saw this on the menu, we knew we have to order it. I couldn’t stop eating! The potatoes are well-seasoned with mala sauce — nothing too overpowering (we did request for it to be less spicy). Potatoes were the right amount of crunchiness, not too soft not too hard. It was so delicious! I think this was my favourite dish out of all.

3. 𝗙𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗮 🍹

✨ I was super stoked to try this, and as expected, I loved it! 😍 As you can see, the cup is HUGE AF and they were super generous with the fruits - there were watermelon, lemon and Orange, etc. 🍉🍋🍊 If you love LiHo’s SG Fruit Tea, this tastes exactly like that. SUPER REFRESHING WITH THE RIGHT AMT OF SWEETNESS, really helps to cleanse my palette!

They also have many other Sichuan dishes at the restaurant such as omelette, kangkong, mapo tofu, fried rice. any dishes, you name it they have it - a good variety even for fussy eaters. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed the dishes here as personally I’m not really a fan of Chinese / China food but man, the food was really so good, we wiped it all! 😌

All in all, a lovely experience & I’d definitely come back here again with my bf for date nights🤪!
