Don’t we all hate that red little bump peeking through our skin!!! 🥲 It’s always a struggle finding a foundation that covers my pimples well - so I’ll be sharing #MyGoTo picks for doing just that today, and yes many of these are cult favourites! All of these foundations are medium to full coverage, and are able to conceal blemishes super well ❤️
— For background, I have dry skin with occasional redness and some pores as well as blackheads.
1.
product: Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation
price: $78 for 30ml
shade range: 40 shades (mine is 2N1)
texture: slightly thicker consistency but skin feels breathable upon application
coverage: 9/10
finish: cashmere matte finish
longevity: long-lasting, minimal transfer
good to note: has SPF 10, oil-free, doesn’t clog pores
recommended for: breakout days when you are looking for an ultra high coverage foundation that can last the entire day
2.
product: Make Up For Ever HD Skin Foundation

coverage: 8/10
finish: natural, skin-like semi-matte finish
longevity: long-lasting, minimal transfer
good to note: parabens-free, sulphate-free, anti-oxidant
recommended for: days you want a more skin-like natural finish that doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin but you are unwilling to give up the coverage
3.

The performance of these foundations are quite similarly honestly! They are highly buildable, covers up my imperfections such as open pores, blackheads, redness and pimples well, making it perfect for my pimple days!
Of course, there are some differentiating factors.
As you can see, coverage wise Estée Lauder’s is the highest followed by Make Up For Ever then Shu Uemura. As for breathability, I’d say Make Up For Ever fared the best in that aspect.
Consistency wise, it’s definitely thicker than much of the Korean foundation cushions that I use, but I like how it doesn’t look cakey on my skin! They all dry pretty quickly too, which makes it important to blend fast.
One thing to note that if you have dry skin, your skin might get flaky at the end of the day. Mine does, which makes doing my skincare properly before wearing these foundation super important!
All in all, I am a huge fan of these 3 foundations 😍 but if I have to pick just one, I’d probably go with Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation as I like the coverage of it, and how the shade I chose actually gives me a slight ‘tone up’ effect ☺️
If you’re looking for a high coverage foundation, definitely give these foundation a go! The price is definitely hefty but in my opinion - it’s #worthlt
Should I do one on cushion foundations too? Comment down below and if this has been helpful for you, do like & save this post heehee 😊✨
