🎀 bon bon patisserie in miri 💐

today i went to try out the cafe part of bonbon after their renovation. as always after lunch hour most of the patisserie, bread and viennoiserie are sold out.

📍 Bon Bon Patisserie , Jalan Pelita 2 (opposite of PnP Plastic)

🍰 matcha ganache danish (rm6.80), earl grey pudding milk tea (rm13), strawberry shortcake - whole (rm98)

bonbon's cakes never missed 🥰 altho the fresh cream looks really thick but it is not jelak. light and fluffy just like japanese nama cream. the matcha danish is nice too — rich and gooey.

for the drinks, there was no matcha latte so i ordered an earl grey milk tea with pudding. the consistency was quite rich, the pudding is grainy which adds texture to it but no earl grey tea smell/taste. i am an avid earl grey tea drinker so it was quite disappointing to not taste the earl grey. my friend ordered the taro mochi milk tea and another was caramel latte (if im not mistaken) both is also lacking but decent.

service wise was really bad and it is not the first time. they served cakes with no cutleries or plates so i went to the counter and asked a server for dessert plate & fork and a whole cake knive — she told me off saying it is self service but there was no dessert cutleries nor cake knives so i just took wtv was there which was a soup spoon and dinner knife 🥲 later on my friend asked for the cake knife & fork again and she repeated saying to get it at the self-service counter until we showed her the only cutlery available was a dinner knife and soup spoon (lol)

but definitely kudos to the male server who served us the drink and cakes and also helped us took a group photo patiently. other than that, parking is quite limited in that area so we parked behind the building and walked a little further.
