Failed hair extension so you don’t have

I’ve done hair extension 4 times, prices ranging from $300-$700. All 4 times I did micro-beading. Did at several places including Far East plaza, Bugis street and professional hair salons.

My first hair extension was done at Far East Plaza. I didn’t plan to do it, I just walked in randomly and decided to do it. Nicely done, I loveeee the light brown big curls!! The hair extension’s quality was good too! However, it drop off very quickly! Comb once and once chuck will drop out. Spend around $300 to achieve the 𝓇𝑒𝓈𝓊𝓁𝓉 𝒾𝓃 𝓈𝑒𝒸𝑜𝓃𝒹 𝓅𝒾𝒸𝓉𝓊𝓇𝑒.

Second hair extension at Bugis street. Worst experience throughout the four times I’ve done hair extension. The guy whom did the hair extension did the hair extension so close to the roots that it was so painful when sleeping!! He also cut my natural hair so the hair extension could “blend in with the natural hair” (ɪ ʟᴀᴛᴇʀ ᴅɪᴅ ꜱᴏᴍᴇ ʀᴇꜱᴇᴀʀᴄʜ ᴀɴᴅ ʀᴇᴀʟɪꜱᴇᴅ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴡᴀꜱ ᴜɴɴᴇᴄᴇꜱꜱᴀʀʏ ᴀᴛ ᴀʟʟ, ᴀɴᴅ ɴᴏ ᴇxᴛᴇɴꜱɪᴏɴ ᴘʀᴏᴄᴇꜱꜱ ɴᴇᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ᴄᴜᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴀɪʀ!!) Anyways, the hair extension was SOOO obvious and totally off from the natural hair. Spend around $400+ to achieve the 𝓇𝑒𝓈𝓊𝓁𝓉 𝒾𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓇𝒹 𝓅𝒾𝒸𝓉𝓊𝓇𝑒.

Third hair extension was done at Venus Salon at North Bridge Road. The stylist was super patient and detailed. Everyone know what they were doing and worked really well together. They dyed the hair extension according to my hair colour (orangy-red) and kept comparing the colour to my hair colour to get the best result. They even did some styling to the hair after the hair extension was completed. After completion of the whole process, they mentioned that the batch of hair extension was of poor quality and it can’t touch water, if not it will go haywire. So they asked me to go back another day to do the hair extension again. I was only washing my scalp for the time I had the hair extensions on becoz I was afraid the water would touch the hair extensions and ruin it 😂 Spend around $700 to achieve the 𝓇𝑒𝓈𝓊𝓁𝓉 𝒾𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒻𝑜𝓇𝓉𝒽 𝓅𝒾𝒸𝓉𝓊𝓇𝑒.

So here comes the forth hair extension due to the poor quality hair extensions from third experience. Went back to Venus Salon to change a batch of hair extension and told them I want purplish-black this time round. This time round, they extended the hair and dyed the whole head purple. Did the big curls styling after which. Stylist took the photo and I had a big time laughing at how heavy he edited the photo 🤣 Spend around $150 to dye the hair to purplish-black and achieve the 𝓇𝑒𝓈𝓊𝓁𝓉 𝒾𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒻𝒾𝓇𝓉𝒽 𝓅𝒾𝒸𝓉𝓊𝓇𝑒❗Note: OP should be around $800+ for the whole process.

(𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲)

➵ 𝓒𝓵𝓲𝓹-𝓲𝓷 ($300-$1000)

Suitable for those who thick hair. Clip on hair. Most obvious.

➵ 𝓣𝓪𝓹𝓮 𝓲𝓷 ($400)

Tape close to root of hair using keratin tape

➵ 𝓢𝓮𝔀-𝓲𝓷 ($600)

Hair sewn into natural hair

➵ 𝓦𝓮𝓪𝓿𝓮 ($300-$1200)

Applied by braiding the natural hair into cornrows first, followed by sewing the weave into the braid or cornrow.

➵ 𝓕𝓾𝓼𝓲𝓸𝓷/𝓖𝓵𝓾𝓮𝓭-𝓲𝓷 ($600-$2000)

Using glue to stick the hair extension on. Extremely damaging to hair and scalp in my opinion. Dried glue might look like dandruff after a period of time.

➵ 𝓜𝓲𝓬𝓻𝓸-𝓫𝓮𝓪𝓭 / 𝓜𝓲𝓬𝓻𝓸-𝓻𝓲𝓷𝓰 (𝓯𝓻𝓸𝓶 $400)

Attached by using small and discreet beads to tie to small amount of hair. Least obvious.

(𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱 & 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲)

With proper care and maintenance, hair extension can last up to 12 months (ʳᵃʳᵉˡʸ). The longest my hair extension had lasted was only for 4 moths due to complication like ɪᴛᴄʜ ᴀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ʀᴏᴏᴛꜱ and ᴛᴀɴɢʟɪɴɢ after a period of time.

➵ Do not remove micro-bead hair extensions on your own, you will pull out your own natural hair 😵 I removed the hair extensions on my own twice and had a major hair loss

➵ High maintenance if you want it to last long

➵ Sometimes quite noticeable

➵ Some type of hair extension damages natural hair

➵ Might suffer from scalp itching

Look for a trusted hair extension place to do your hair extension because it is super expensive and you will want something nice!!
