best cafes to mug in sg 🤓 | mellower coffee

join me on my hunt for the best study spots in singapore! i visited mellower coffee for the first time and here’s my honest opinion about it (as a study spot!)

☕️ space

i went at night and there were still quite a few customers studying or chilling! overall, the place is super spacious with lots of seats. however, if it gets packed, it definitely can get pretty claustrophobic. the level 2 seating was closed so i couldn’t get a good view :(

🏷️ price range/quality

most drinks are typical cafe price from $6-8, but it can get quite pricey if you opt for more fancy drinks. i got the matcha latte — not bad, but not fantastic either. i would recommend getting coffee from here instead as i heard it’s much better! you can get much better matcha for cheaper at hvala chjimes just a 5min walk away 🚶‍♀️

⏱️ time limit

there’s a stated 90 minute dine in period, but i didn’t get kicked out after the time limit as there weren’t a lot of customers!

🧺 ambience

maybe because i went at night, but the ambience was great i loved it 🥰🥰 def reco coming here at night especially since it doesn’t close very early like other small cafes! (they close at 9pm!)

🔎 other nitty gritty

the tables are really big so it’s great for doing work. most tables don’t have charging ports though — only those near the wall 🔌

overall verdict: 6.5/10

i’ll definitely pop by if i need a pick me up after studying at bugis library! there are much better study cafes though so i wouldn’t specially travel here
