Next time you’re traveling to New York, make a visit to Brooklyn Botanic Garden! The best part is each season offers something different, there are even special winter blooms that take place!

Here are a few of my personal spots you don’t want to miss!

Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden

The most recognizable landmark in BBG, it’s one of the oldest existing Japanese-inspired gardens in the United States that transports you to Japan! The garden is quite extensive and you’ll want to follow the path around the tranquil pond admiring the orange tori gate. Be sure to visit the pavilion and watch the koi in the pond too.

Cherry Walk is a must during the cherry blossom blooms where there are more than 200 trees in bloom!

Tropical Pavillion

This is especially fun to visit on a cold day as it houses tropical plants and is always warm!

Desert Pavilion

Just like the conservatory, amazing to visit on a cold or rainy day. You’re transported into a desert climate surrounded by cool desert plants and cacti!

C.V. Starr Bonsai Museum

Impressive bonsai collection, some trees are over a century old! They bonsai change with the seasons too so this is one area you want to visit again and again!!!

Lightscape

This special winter holiday exhibit is held annually for a period of time where the gardens are illuminated with lights at night and guests can walk through the pathways!

Cost $16-22

They have special community tickets for those who need financial assistance
